X-Ray Images of Johannes' prefered didgeridoos.

What is the purpose?

Well, I like to know, how my self-made Didges and good original Yidakis look from inside.
But, sewing apart the didges in not my preferred way to look inside ;-) Well, a non-destroying examinationmethod has to be used.

In my day to day work I repair X-Ray machines, so it was possible, to make the Examination with XRays. The Images are made on a digital medium and combined from 4 to 5 single-images.

It is not possible to use those Images to replicate a didge. But you get an impression how the wall-thickness and the inner bore are worked out.

For exact measurement and replication of a Didge the method invented by Kay Reimer testadoo.de is most useful.

here are three original australian, termiten-eaten yedakis. The owner is Klaus Schaefer, they are very special attractive instruments.

X-Ray -images are made by Klaus and Johannes in Giessen, the town where Klaus lives. Here you see them both at work...
